"Bluebird Care provides an invaluable service which assists my very elderly dad to remain in his own home rather than transferring to a residential facility, something he has made clear he really does not want to do. A member of the care team visits for an hour each day to cook him a meal, clear up afterwards and to carry out several other pre-defined tasks in the home to aid his lifestyle. At the moment this time is sufficient for his needs, but it is reassuring to know that this can be increased if and when the requirement changes.

With no relatives living locally, the Bluebird Care service means that Dad’s family take comfort in knowing that he has a visitor each day to check on his well-being, to cook him a 2 course hot meal, and to have a chat with him. The Open Pass mobile phone app is an added bonus giving the family access to the daily report prepared by the visiting care team member which provides information on a number of topics including Dad’s well-being, what he has had for dinner and what other tasks were carried out. Sometimes the carer will add much welcome supplementary information such as the status of Dad’s food supply which is very useful in placing his weekly on-line grocery order.

Dad undoubtedly looks forward to his daily care team visit, enjoys the friendly and caring company as well as the substantial hot meal he no longer has to cook for himself. The setting up of the Bluebird Care service is a major contributor to Dad being able to remain in his own home at this stage of his life and gives his family comfort in knowing he is receiving warm, professional daily care and that if he has any significant additional needs we rapidly get to hear of them."
